Having a regular boiler service will provide you with the peace of mind that your boiler is in a fully working condition and operating in the most energy-efficient way.
In the latest post from EGP Plumbers, we discuss the importance of having a central heating service.
Did you know that faulty central heating could cost you money? If your central heating isn’t working properly, it could prove less efficient and, consequently, cost you more to run. Another reason to have a regular service of your central heating system is to ensure that there are no carbon monoxide leaks.
During your central heating service, your appointed gas engineer will check various aspects of your appliance. To begin with, a visual check will be carried out of the appliance and pipes to ensure that it complies with all current safety regulations. Your gas engineer will also be checking for corrosion that could lead to links.
Following on a from a visual check, all major components of your boiler will be cleaned, including the flue and internal features such as the heat exchange, burner and filters.
To put your mind at ease, a professional gas engineer will also test all safety devices to ensure they are working properly, and an analysis of your flue gas will be actioned to check for combustion efficiency.
Of course, the last step of any service will be to turn your system back on and check that all is working as it should be.
